Ginny Nadolny

Commander Ginny Nadolny is an active-duty U.S. Coast Guard officer and a military fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). She joins CSIS after serving as the chief of enforcement in the Florida Keys, where she managed maritime law enforcement operations in coordination with federal and local partners throughout the Florida Straits and Caribbean Sea approaches. Operationally at sea, she has served in multiple ships as the assistant navigator, law enforcement officer, executive officer, and as plank owner and commanding officer of Fast Response Cutter USCGC Isaac Mayo (WPC 1112), conducting counter-drug and migrant interdiction operations, search and rescue, fisheries law enforcement, and hurricane response. Ashore, Commander Nadolny served as military aide to former presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump, where she was responsible for the president’s emergency satchel and assisting with national command decisions in all phases of contingency, planning, and execution to ensure continuity of the U.S. government. Additionally, she has served as an analyst in the Coast Guard Office of Strategic Workforce Planning and as the chief of boards, Officer Personnel Management, where she facilitated Coast Guard selection boards and worked to inform the service’s long-term strategic vision for evolving the future workforce. Commander Nadolny holds a master’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Miami and a bachelor’s degree in operations research and computer analysis from the United States Coast Guard Academy.
